JULY 28th, 2022 UPDATE: This lantern arrived to me without a cage. With a huge thank you to Johan Verbeerst in Belgium, I was able to finally have a proper cage for this lantern.

FR. STÜBGEN KEROSENE LANTERN. D.R. PATENT WITH RARE BAT GLOBE

FR. STÜBGEN & CO. ERFURT - D.R. PATENT KEROSENE LANTERN

WITH RARE EMBOSSED BAT GLOBE

This was the second lantern in the group of three that I received.  Covered in horrible silver paint, it was a bit of work and time to restore it.  It is heavily pitted on the air tubes.  Were it not for the very tiny embossed bat on the fuel tank, this lantern would be a candidate for a new coat of paint.  A coat of paint would cover up the bat logo and also the words 'D. R. Patent' on the fuel tank (the embossing is very faint).

The globe is the real value with this lantern as it is very rare.  The tank does not leak and the burner is 100% operable which is quite amazing given its age.  The cage and globe that were on this lantern were incorrect. Those items are now on the first lantern in the group of three.

All three are shown in the photo gallery above. Notice the size difference with the embossed Bat

on the fuel tank.
