FR. STÜBGEN EISENBAHN SIGNAL-HANDLATERNEN Model 1923

FR. STÜBGEN EISENBAHN SIGNAL-HANDLATERNEN Model 1923

This lantern came to me from the Netherlands. It is a very early 1900's Fr.

Stübgen Eisenbahn (Railroad) Signal Hand lampe.

It is all original and complete except for the small sliding mechanism that holds up the tin panel on the right side. The lantern was put through the rust removal process and one coat of Museum Wax. Burner works beautifully. The beveled glass panels have a few minor scratches on them, but no cracks and intact.

****I DID FABRICATE A SOLID COPPER SLIDING MECHANISM TO REPLACE THE STRAIGHT ROD THAT WAS IN THE LANTERN WHEN I RECEIVED. NOT EXACT, BUT IT IS BETTER)******

It has a 7 ''' oil burner and a double hat with an asbestos insert.

There are a few remnants of the asbestos liner insert still present. The double hat with insert was designed to prevent the wooden handle from getting too hot during prolonged use.

CIRCA: 1900
